The Boston City Council has approved a measure intended to increase recycling rates in the city. Commercial waste haulers will soon be required to offer recycling services to their customers. Haulers must now:

• Offer customers the option to recycle
   
• Provide information about their program, as well as educational materials about recycling.
   
• Give the city statistics on how many customers they have, how many opted to recycle, and how much recyclable waste they collected annually.
