Stapleton's master planned community will accommodate 12,000 homes and apartments, and 13 million square feet of retail and commercial space over the next 15 years. This model for urban mixed-use development has received numerous awards, including the 2002 Stockholm Partnerships for Sustainable Communities Award, the 2005 Denver Regional Council of Governments MetroVision Award, and the Urban Land Institute's 2006 Excellence: The Americas Program Award, among others.
