The Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability this week awarded a total of $425,000 to three sustainable development projects. The grants come from the Green Investment Fund, a five-year, $2.5 million fund intended to incentivize green building practices in the city.
The Blanchet House of Hospitality, Pearl Family Housing and XVI Vernon Place each received a grant.
The city says the fund aims to spur future investments in sustainable development and engineering, especially for community-based projects.
