The NRDC uses law, science and the support of more than 1.2 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.

For over 35 years, NRDC's strategy has been to get results using the most effective tools available, whether that means working with the construction industry to promote wood-efficient building techniques or mobilizing public opinion to force the EPA to enact stricter guidelines to protect children from harmful chemicals.  In addition to its New York headquarters, NRDC has offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington and Beijing.  Worth Magazine has named NRDC one of America's 100 best charities, and Charity Navigator has given NRDC four stars (out of a possible four).
